For more than five years, Dr. Gianotti was the principal in-house scholar at Toronto's Noor Cultural Centre, a uniquely inclusive, non-denominational, diverse community in the heart of one of the world's most diverse cities. Activities included pastoral leadership, community education, and interreligious engagement, in addition to Dr. G's simultaneous academic responsibilities as the York-Noor Chair of Islamic Studies and subsequently the York-Noor Fellow at York University.
For several years, Dr. Gianotti has served on the Advisory Council for this one-week, non-denominational, inclusive summer camp in northern Ontario for Muslim kids from diverse religious, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. On the ground, he also has served in the capacity of Religious Director and Camp Imam.
